We work on the other side of the timeline. Three principles decide how, when and for whom we act.

Minimum Necessary Change.

Not the biggest intervention, but the smallest necessary change at the right time.

We do not ask how much we could change. We ask which change is truly necessary, and when. Every action we take is the smallest change that removes the risk.

Ne kadar çok şeyi değiştirebileceğimizi sormayız. Hangi değişikliğin gerçekten gerekli olduğunu ve ne zaman yapılması gerektiğini sorarız. Attığımız her adım, riski ortadan kaldıran en küçük değişikliktir.

Mind the few. Decide for the many.

We decide for the majority, but every system keeps its own floor. No decision may push a single workload below its own service level, recovery point or maintenance window. When the many and the few conflict, the few get an exception or a human decision. Never silence.

In the stories that inspired us, those who quietly adjusted the future were the ones to be stopped. We take the opposite path. Every action is visible, explained, approved within agreed limits and reversible. Autonomy is earned step by step, never assumed.

Our name comes from Isaac Asimov's The End of Eternity. In the novel, "upwhen" is the direction toward the future. For us, that direction matters in operations too: seeing the signal and acting before the event.

Adımız Isaac Asimov'un Sonsuzluğun Sonu romanından geliyor. Romanda "upwhen", zaman içinde geleceğe doğru yönü anlatıyor. Bizim için bu yön operasyonda da anlam taşıyor: sinyali görmek ve olaydan önce harekete geçmek.

The same novel gave us the idea of the "minimum necessary change". We focus on the change that is actually needed, not on how much we could change. And we add one rule of our own: mind the few, decide for the many.

"En küçük gerekli değişiklik" fikri de aynı romandan geliyor. Ne kadar çok şeyi değiştirebileceğimize değil, gerçekten gereken değişikliğe odaklanıyoruz. Buna kendi kuralımızı da ekliyoruz: azınlığı gözet, çoğunluk için karar al.
